I have been wanting to update my blog for SO long!! I have actually missed blogging and sharing things about my life on the internet lol. Last year I tried to make a rainbow cake but after I burnt one layer, my plans were shot and baking the cake I wanted basically fell through…this year I couldn’t bake the cake I wanted in my house due to renovations, so I waited the next week to bake it in a house I was in while I had to petsit/housesit in it. When my house was being renovated, it was just the kitchen and I couldn’t touch the wet painted cabinets, sealant on the new counter tops etc. Anyway! Enjoy the photos compiled over the past two weeks of celebration (because celebrating my birthday lasts as long as I want)! NYEH HEH HEH >:3.
Remember…Live every day like it’s your birthday!!
A beautiful sunset I captured on my cell phone after finishing work on my birthday…
Makeup and an easy outfit the day of my birthday since I had to work…
The top photo was from the day of my birthday (FYI-my birthday is March 13th!!) but I didn’t do anything special, just worked and enjoyed the day! I was so excited for that actual week to be over so I could bake the cake I had been planning for ALL WEEK!!
A sweet friend took me out to dinner! Since it was around my birthday I got a free dessert too (I let my friend pick apple crumble). I splruged and got fried chicken salad…it’s my inner fat girls fault, she told me to get it.
Left photo: Happy birthday banner a client put up for me when I arrived to petsit for them! top right photo: Watching Molly Ringwald in “Pretty In Pink” bottom right photo: An Easter basket a client gave me to cheer me up :).
The same client that put the banner up in their house gave me a betty boop key chain as a present! The wife said my personality reminded her of Betty Boop and Molly Ringwald, so we ended up watching the movie together!! In the bottom corner is an easter basket a client gave me to cheer me up, I was feeling down over some verbal abuse I have been going through recently from my father…
A close up of the birthday banner! I loved the felt flaps and letters, it cheered me up seeing it everyday I was there housesitting/petsitting for the client!
Creating the colored batter for my tie dye hearts inside my fudgey bundt cake!
After randomly plopping my different batter’s onto a baking sheet and spreading it with the back of a spoon to swirl the colors together, I baked the batter and used a cookie cutter heart.
After my hearts were done, I put them into my bundt cake upside down and filled the rest of my pan with batter. I wish I had taken more photos but I had did this at night with out decent lighting…I also didn’t have my usual set up, but I made it all work! I drove back home for my cake caddy to set my finished cake on. The caddy ended up with smeared chocloate on it that I decided to not photoshop out, I didn’t see it as too distracting…
Finished Bundt Cake dripping with chocolate sea salt ganache frosting, topped with dallies sprinkles, and dark chocolate M and M’s for the center of the cake!
Food Porn Details…You know you wanted to see it!! And now let’s see…when you cut the cake…
…When I cute my slice of cake, the moist end of it broke off so I didn’t get to photograph the “perfect” slice of food photography worthy cake but HEY-LOOK at that tie-dye heart! come on…
Here is the youtube video I followed but changed the way I did my hearts:
That’s all for now, folks!
